Lacey C. Gonzales-Borstler,  Newaygo County foster care worker

I will be using part's of the Lacey's testimony from May 24, 2007 on this page and responding.

Q When did you have your first contact with Mr. and Mrs. Atwood?

A My first contact with Mr. and Mrs. Atwood was January 3rd, 2006.

Q And what kind of contact was that?

A A phone call, Mr. Atwood called.

Q And what did he want do you recall?

A He was requesting visitation.

Q With the Keast children?

A Yes.

This part of Lacey's testimony isn't true. It is documented in Lacey's own Service Plan Report from 10/11/05 where it states.

8/05/05 Tx from Tim Atwood, left message-requesting visitation

8/05/05 Tx to Tim Atwood, denied visitation due to present circumstances

I am curious why Lacey doesn't have the other 2 contacts between her and I from August-September 2005.  I again asked for visitations twice during that time period. In those 2 conversations Lacey told me, "Grandparents have no rights." I did some searching on the internet and found out our legislators passed a law in regards to grandparents rights. We had an argument during the second conversation she told me "Grandparents have no rights." Needless to say she still wouldn't let us see Alyssa and Amber.

During the conversation I had with Lacey on January 3, 2006, why did Lacey deliberately lie to me? I asked Lacey why the children were removed from my daughter again. Lacey told me it was because Erica tested positive for drugs. The fact of the matter is Lacey returned the children back to Erica even after Erica tested positive for THC earlier the same morning. It is document this was not the reason Alyssa and Amber were removed.

Q And what did--how did you respond?

A Um, he was advised that the Department wasn't under any obligation to offer visitation. The fact was that mom still had parental rights and mom was reiterating to us that she did not want the grandparents to have contact.

Q So your information then in January of 2006 is that the mother was apparently at odds with Mr. and Mrs. Atwood?

A Yes.

Q They didn't have a functional relationship -at that point, fair to say?

A Yes.

Now why was the relationship between our daughter at odds?  This was because Erica was punished by me because she  let the children have contact with the boyfriend? That was the only reason the children were removed from our care. If we won't let Erica see the children and do whatever she wants then we can't see Alyssa and Amber.

"I would just monitor the foster--the girls in their foster home placement that was my responsibility. It wasn't to decide who should adopt.- Lacey

This is the same thing Suzanne Adams (BCS) told me the first meeting we had with her on July 17, 2006.. "CPS' only role is the foster care of the children." So why did Lacey and Char (CPS) have this meeting September 6, 2006 with Bethany Christian Services (BCS)? Was it to come up with a plan how to eliminate us from adopting our granddaughters? Hence the false sex abuse accusation.

"However, in the September 2005, psychological intake completed by the local County Mental Health (CMH) Center, she stated that she thought that her father might have sexually abused the girls." "The girl's mother said she believes that Alyssa could have been sexually abused while she left Alyssa in the grandfather's care. She reported this to CMH and to DHS".     -Children's adoption assessment page 2. October 10, 2006

In this same Service Plan 10/11/05  there is a spot in which Lacey can provide anything about sexual abuse.

"There is no evidence of sexual abuse."

You can bet if Erica actually said this, it definitely would have been in one of the reports Lacey authored and supplied to the court.

Brian Vanderzalm used fraudulent information in his reports about me, which was then used by Kathy Sholty and then repeated by Lacey in her reports. So yes, if Erica actually said the above you can bet Lacey would have used it in her reports instead of saying, "There is no evidence of sexual abuse."

This was an accusation that was made up to try and eliminate us altogether from adopting. This false sex abuse accusation is discussed in details on Suzanne Adams' page.
